XBOX LIVE FACTS:
  • Microsoft ended the Xbox Live service for the original Xbox on April 15, 2010.
  • There are 136 original Xbox games that feature system-link (including Halo 2) that are still playable online today via XLink Kai, a service that tricks the Xbox into thinking that the gamers online are connected via system-link.
  • An original Xbox softmod install makes it easier to play system-link games because it can play backup games. Therefore one game can be used for several systems.
  • The Xbox 360 can system-link with original Xbox games for a LAN party game. The only requirement is that the original Xbox game is backwards compatible on the Xbox 360
  • Xbox Live also featured downloadable content for some Xbox games such as new levels and customization features. This Xbox DLC can still be downloaded today and used for an original Xbox softmod installed.
